Brahmatal Trek
The winter Brahmatal walk, on the other hand, not only takes you to an alpine lake, but also allows you to camp close to it. The Brahmatal trip is unique in that it allows you to trek to such a lake in the winter.
You’re already at roughly 12,000 feet when you stand near the ice lake in Brahmatal. The scenery is breathtaking. A shrine is near the lake, and a lone tree stands on the far bank. The lake is in a depression, and the waters are extremely clean.

While everyone is focused on Brahmatal, don’t overlook Bekaltal, another lake trip worth exploring. Bekaltal, lower down, is also a wonderful site, surrounded by deep trees and enchanting legends.

In India, Brahmatal trek is a comparatively new hike. Nonetheless, it has become extremely popular in just a few years. There’s a reason for this: the route boasts nearly ideal conditions for a fresh snow walk. However, if you just want to beat the crowds, go in January, February, or March. The snow is deeper than it was in December, but there are fewer people on the trail.
Kedarkantha Trek

Kedarkantha is covered in snow from December to April, making it one of Uttarakhand’s top winter hikes. Prashar Lake Trek
Prashar, a blue-water lake in Kullu Valley, is bordered by the Dhauladhar hills. Prashar Lake is a secret lake in Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi district. The hike takes you through a beautiful woodland with various rivulets. Meanwhile, because the route passes through villages, visitors may take in the local culture. The Dhauladhar, Pir Panjal, and Kinnaur mountainous regions may all be seen from the hike. Local tales claim, however, that the lake was formed by Bhima, one of the Pandava brothers, on his way back from Kurukshetra after Mahabharatha.

Throughout the year, the highest average Prashar Lake temperature is approximately 21 degrees Celsius, and the lowest temperature is around -8 degrees Celsius. Even in the summer, it is necessary to be prepared for the unpredictability of the chill. As a result, bringing layers of clothing is vital for a successful trek in the Himalayas.
Dodital Winter Trek
The Dodital Trek is one of the most beautiful treks in the Garhwal Himalayan region, with elevated grassland blanketed in snow during the winters, babbling streams, deep alpine woodland, and a wide variety of flowers. The trip begins in the Bhagirathi valley, which is situated at an altitude of 1,350 metres, and ascends gently to a towering height of 4,150 metres at Darwa Top, passing through a mystery forest. Dodital, also known as Ganesh-ka-Tal, is one of the Garhwal Himalayan region’s holiest lakes, as it is believed to be the birthplace of Lord Ganesha, one of the Hindu gods. A 16-kilometer trek from Agoda leads to Manjhi, which is nestled at a high height and travels through a lovely Rhododendron forest. It provides a setting conducive to overnight camping for hikers. Camping here is pure delight because of the sweeping natural beauty, cooling climate, and quiet water of the freshwater lake. A 5-kilometer hike to Darwa Top leads to the spectacular Bandarpunch peak and Swargarohini range, passing through narrow gorges, birch forest, rocky colonies, and a succession of rivulets. During the winter, much of the trail is traversed on a thick blanket of snow, which is cleared after passing through the village of Agoda.
